Spring has arrived in the Berkshires, and with it comes one of the season’s most heartwarming traditions—Hancock Shaker Village’s Baby Animals Festival.
This annual event celebrates new life on the farm and is a must-visit for families with young animal lovers. Come meet the newest arrivals—lambs, piglets, calves, chicks, and goat kids—and explore the village's living history with hands-on activities and engaging events designed to delight visitors of all ages.
What You’ll Find at the Festival
Throughout the day, guests can enjoy daily talks about the farm and Shaker life, observe traditional craft demonstrations, and take peaceful walks along the Farm & Forest Trail. It’s an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and experience the timeless rhythms of rural life.
To make the most of your visit, plan to arrive between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

General admission tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the gate. Please note that advance tickets are not eligible for discounts such as NARM, Library Pass, EBT, or AAA. Discounted tickets are available on-site.
Behind-the-Scenes Tour
Looking for an extra special experience? Start your day early with the Village’s exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Tour, offered daily at 10 a.m. Climb aboard the wagon hayride and enjoy an hour-long guided tour with the farmers themselves. You’ll get the inside scoop on the history of the Shaker farm, visit iconic spots like the Round Stone Barn and Dairy Ell, and spend quality time with this year’s baby animals.
This tour is limited to one group of up to 20 people each day, and advance reservations are required. Tickets sell out quickly and are non-refundable.
